Common Faults and Maintenance of Automotive Radiators

2026-02-25

Typical failure:
Leakage (tank damage, aging pipe connections, failure of radiator cap);
Blockage (due to scale/rust, leading to poor heat dissipation and high water temperature);
Heat sink deformation / dust accumulation (increased air resistance, reduced cooling efficiency);
Fan/thermostat failure (abnormal water temperature).
Maintenance points:
You must use proper antifreeze (do not use tap water directly); replace it every 2–3 years or every 40,000–60,000 kilometers.
Regularly remove dust, cotton fluff, and insects from surfaces to prevent blockages.
Check whether there are any leaks at the pipeline connections and whether the radiator cap pressure is normal.
Avoid prolonged overload and idling conditions to prevent overheating and damage to the core.
