How an automobile radiator works

Coolant circulation: The water pump drives the coolant to circulate between the engine’s water jacket and the radiator core.
Heat exchange process:
The hot coolant flows into the radiator core, where it exchanges heat with the air through thin-walled tubes.
Air flows outside the radiator core, absorbing heat from the coolant and warming up in the process, while the coolant itself cools down.
Temperature Regulation: The thermostat controls the flow of coolant based on the engine temperature. At low temperatures, the coolant bypasses the radiator and returns directly to the engine via a bypass pipe; at high temperatures, the coolant flows into the radiator for heat dissipation.
