The core function of an automotive radiator

2026-02-25

Temperature Control: Heat generated by the engine is transferred to the coolant via a heat exchanger, and then exchanged with air through the radiator core, thereby cooling the coolant. The cooled coolant is then circulated back to the engine, maintaining the engine's operating temperature between 80-100°C (in a liquid-cooling system) or dissipating heat through airflow (in an air-cooling system).
Performance Assurance: Prevents engine performance degradation, damage, or safety hazards caused by overheating, while improving fuel combustion efficiency, reducing pollutant emissions, and extending engine life.
System Adaptation: The system is designed to meet the needs of different vehicle types—for example, passenger cars use lightweight aluminum radiators, while commercial vehicles are equipped with high-temperature-resistant copper radiators. The system also supports various cooling methods, including air cooling and liquid cooling.
